So like it seems like not very many people are aware of it, but all ive heard is that pacific life is supposed to build a tower in downtown. I don't really know much except i've seen some people's personal renderings which don't really help. If anyone ever comes across any more information, please reply to this thread. I'm excited to see what else can be added to Omaha, but I just wana see if anyone else knows something more.

Don't expect to see anything in the immediate future. The Pacific Life Tower is more of a rumor now more than anything. A good poster mentioned before (he also works for Pac Life) of plans of a new tower downtown. I don't see why this member would lie about this, and I feel that he is trustworthy. I feel that a Pac-Life tower is very believable and will likely happen in the future. However, people are expecting there to be some big announcement any day now, when in reality it probably wont be for a little while if it does happen. Be patient and eventually we will hopefully get an announcement a few years down the road.

DTO said that they would finish designs for the tower in 2009, so it will probably be announced in 2009.

Maybe, maybe not. I would actually be really surprised if an announcement came (if it comes at all) in 2009.

Another thing that makes me think its coming sooner is that to the east of the wall street tower sit they demod an old world hearld building or something like that, and by I-480 they demod another building close to the Quest so something has to be going on cause they taken out a lot of buildings.

Default ..

DTO has stated that he got out of a meeting recently with some of the big boys there and they were talking about slowly moving more and more of their corporate people to Omaha.

DTO was told by somebody at his office that they are pursuing a tall office structure that will display their name on the building.

Sounds like to me that Pac Life is very serious about making their establishment all downtown and to have a building display their presence here..

The building demolished by the Qwest Center is for a temporary parking lot while they build the baseball stadium.

The old World Herald building (east of the Wallstreet Tower) was demolished when the World Herald bought the Qwest building and relocated there. The for OWH site is being converted to a temporary park until something else comes along.

It's interesting to note that John Gottschalk, the editor-in-chief of the OWH, is also the head of the PacLife board of directors. Also interesting to note that they vacated their old lot to make way for "something" else in the future. The steady stream of rumors I've heard said any plans would roll out around 2010.

Well I hope they say something soon. The city and metro area will hopefully see even more growth If so I can't wait to see what other companies want to build an hq in Omaha. The more the better I guess. =)

DTO, What intersection is the old OWH lot? Is that where the park is on the east side of Wallstreet tower's site?
