By all the different numbers I was looking at Lincoln can be pretty described like this.

Median Household and per-capita incomes are slightly below the national average. Housing costs are below the national average and adjusted to median household income housing costs are still below the national average, people get slighlty more for their money in Lincoln as opposed to the rest of the country.
So overall Lincoln comes out ahead on that.

The violent crime rate and crime rates though show Lincoln is a high crime metro area. Violent crime is slightly above the national average and property crime rates are very high as opposed to the national average.

So overall with all the numbers it shows that numbers wise Lincoln is fairly average when it comes to combining everything. Its by no means a bad place overall but not exceptional either.

Of course we all have our opinions and statistics and numbers arent everything.

Yeah, that is a pretty fair assumption on that... I would say that most of the violent crime rate probably has to do with the boozing and all the colleges, but none the less it is a bit above average violent crime rate...
