OMG 11.6 million in 2006 in my little county Pierce.

Funning looking at the list saw a husband and wife each get $48k.

I suppose they split the land owner ship, but i wonder if they got a divorce just to get more cash.

I have to find his dad (original owner) and see if he is on the list.

No, you can double dip if both spouses are considered land owners. (And sign up to double dip)

Like I said, commodity farmers have a large chunk of the welfare market cornered...

midwestern guy, Your first post on this thread reminds me of the movie "Esacape from New York" where they just fence the city and turn it into a prison. Should we become a part of Iowa or be our own sovereign nation?
We can then invade places like Elkhorn...whoops already happened.

I really wish I would have been there when that happened. I would have loved to seen the meltdown those people had.

Especially considering the fact that the annexation of Elkhorn was 100% the fault of the MAYOR OF ELKHORN.

The city of Omaha had an agreement with Elkhorn that the latter would be left alone, provided Elkhorn didn't try to annex any more area around it. So what did the idiot mayor of Elkhorn do? He immediately went out and tried to annex everything around Elkhorn so they could hit a population of 10,000 - and thereby be exempt from being annexed.

Sometimes we seal our own doom.

Even so, there are a quite a few Elkhorn residents who are honest enough to say that their level of city services has actually improved since the annexation.

I think this is right, that neither area subsidizes the other, although I don’t have any stats to prove it. Why is it that urbanites always think their taxes subsidize rural areas, while country folk think their taxes are used by the cities?

I have a teenager (for another year).

Didn't you know that all parents of teenagers are stupid? Just ask any teenager.
