the kick omaha out subject is kind of an odd idea, and certainly will never happen. hey, maybe missouri should give kc and st.louis the boot too. then michigan could donate detroit to canada...maybe that isnt a bad idea.

i did find the farm subsidy link interesting. in nebraska, among subsidy recipients, ten percent collected 60 percent of all subsidies amounting to $6.27 billion over 12 years. a few get the bulk of the bucks, that figures. i notice iowa ranks number 2, only to texas, but by only.1 percent. i sat next to a lady on a shuttle bus one time that was talking about the huge checks some of the farmers were getting, and still complaining. she worked at an area bank, and got the pleasure of dealing with them. the citizens against government waste sees the original goal of the subsidy program as helping to keep the small family farm going, but now its turned into corporate welfare for the rich, with a few receiving the bulk of the rewards. i agree with their position on that issue.

Yes if these so-called tea-baggers want to get all upset about government bailouts they need look no farther than their nice neighborhood corporate farm.

I think the entire Omaha Metro should start threatening to secede from the BS state of Nebraska. Its time Omaha stand up for gay rights and to abandon the bigoted rest of Nebraska! Its GLBT History Month!!!

Saying the "rest" of the state is bigoted is no better than saying all gay people are bad people.

Why is it you can't recognize your hypocrisy?

Are there bigots in rural NE, sure. But there are bigots in Omaha too. To simply just categorize all people who live in rural NE as bigoted is shockingly ignorant. I grew up in north central NE and the vast vast majority of the people I know are NOT bigoted and most that I keep in touch with support gay marriage.

I know I've posted this one before, but I don't think it's been in this particular thread yet... lol

He also not only voted for Obama, he even caucused for him.
(My husband that is, I have yet to get the political opinion of either horse or the dogs. )

I think you've led an extremely sheltered life, Surf, if you think people can be stereotyped so easily...

What hypocrisy is there to recognize? Omaha has always been more open than the REST of Nebraska. Its fact, deal with it, get on with it already!!!
