Just wanted to congratulate KPD on their fine handling of the robbery attempt yesterday at the Wells Fargo Bank. Although let's face it this guy must have been dumb to try to rob the bank in Kearney that is closest to the police station. That takes brains!! This was two blocks from the police department, when they got the call they literally could finish their coffee and walk down the street to apprehend this guy. Nice job guys, but seriously, what a dunce.

You kind of have to wonder what he was hoping to accomplish - especially his demand to have news cameras present.

"Hmmm... Let's see. How can I make absolutely sure that I'm caught and convicted for this stupidity?"

His demand for the news camera's to be present is probably related to the fact that he had recently been fired from NTV which is the local ABC affiliate. He worked in the news control room so he wnated to show everyone at the news department how awesome he was.

Hmmmm... Now I'm wondering if this wouldn't be a great way to show my love for my wife on Valentine's Day. I'd want to do it naked, of course. But heck, how awesome could that be!?

Since I have actually known this person for quite a number of years, I would have to say that he is probably off his meds and wanted to get the police to kill him instead of committing suicide. I just feel so bad for those people he victimized. I hope they can get over the trauma and get on with their normal lives. I am also thrilled that he no longer lives anywhere near me.

On the other hand, Wells Fargo Bank sets itself up for more bank robberies than other banks because they have a widely known policy of 1) no armed guards and 2) employees who are instructed to comply with the demands of robbers.
