Hi we are thinking of moving to vegas/henderson, but the health insurance /health plans are holding us back.. Nevada is pretty low as far as ratings.. My husband is qualified for medicare and I have 3 more years to get there.. Any suggestions on which is the best plan to get? My son and daughter in law live in Vegas and they have confirmed the health plan they chose is terrible for them. Im not sure if it's different for seniors. We live in a state now where we have Kaiser and have been very happy with them. Im not a fan of HMO's but Kaiser has been pretty good to us.. Anything like Kaiser in Nevada? Thank you

I'd start with your husband's Medicare doctor who should be able to see you too and/or suggest where you might want to seek insurance. If you can locate the doctor's billing clerk that person should know which insurance plan has good coverage.

You might want to check with AARP.

There's a medicare website that rates doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. You don't need to be on Medicare to access and see the data. Spend a few minutes looking at the things it rates, it might help.

There are websites claiming they'll find you good plans, but you do have to give them a bit of personal data.

This website should have the information you need:

https://www.nevadahealthlink.com/sshix/

My daughter has health insurance through this exchange and it works very well for her. She is young and healthy, I am unfamiliar with how it might work for seniors.

It is about as good as you can get anywhere it is available.

With Medicare you will pick your own healthcare and doctor.
