I don't know if you've seen this article in one of the local papers:

Mesquite, Nevada Local News VVWD Confirms Wind River Denial (broken link)

Not too encouraging. I've always been told that Mesquite is on one of the larges aquifers around. *shrugs shoulders*

Default I Was Told Plenty Of Water!

When we were out there a yr ago,i stopped and talked to a water utility worker that was working up near scm just before you go in and he told me that according to there calcuations they are only about at 30% of there capacity and can support about 60 to 70% more than they have now- and maintain the natural re-charge rate in the aquafier-also said they were sitting on one of the bigger aquafiers,
this was confirmed by listening to radio mesquite on a show called" talking real estate"
if you go to http://www.radiomesquite.com/
and click on talking realestate you can listen to it.i forget which week it was but they have shows from about 3-4 weeks ago and the guy on there stated the same thing i told you about the aquafier and recharging ability.
hopefully they are all correct-lol.

Hey I'm still looking. I put the move on hold because I couldn't find a job. I did come and visit in Oct. Like it. Wanted to move ASAP but...no hope of a job. So I was looking again the other day just to see if there was any new jobs listed. I found one listed at the City. So if anyone knows anyone at the City help me out!! The deadline to apply is Dec 14. I sent all my info in to them. So I am hoping that they will start talking to people then. I really really want to move asap. My goal is the end of Jan 2008 to be in Mesquite! Pray for me people!
Thanks!

Default Internet Connection Speed

Would like to compare internet & TV service with other Mesquite NV residents.

My current provider is Baja Broadband. 6mb internet cable is around $40, and expanded basic TV around $35 per month. Broadband Reports Flash 8 test speeds usually fluctuate between 4-5mb. The public access TV channel does not show the Mesquite City Council meetings, just a recorded advertising program showing St. George UT businesses.

Reliance Connects seems to be evolving based on this article (broken link). Any user comments?

Smile Anyone On This Board From Sun City Mesquite?

Just wondering if any one on this board is a resident of scm and what your experiance was with the actual building timelines vs what told you when you signed your contract?
i.e.-how far off ,if any were actual building and occupany timelines that were stated to you at contract inception.
also how do you like living in scm so far?

thanks in advance Benny L

Default St. George Health Fair

Dixie Regional Medical Center offers an annual health fair that is actually worth attending. Unlike many of these "next to worthless" events where they just hand out literature, this one actually offers various screenings and blood testing (for a fee).

Default Overnight in Mesquite

We are going back to Mesquite to tour the Sun City site. Last time, we stayed in Vegas. This time, we are going to stay in Mesquite for two nights and take the long way (via Utah) to Sedona for the rest of the time we are on vacation. Can someone please recommend a good place to stay? We have searced on the web and I think I have narrowed it to Falcon RIdge Hotel and Highland Estates Resort. Cleanliness and quiet are more important than casinos. Thanks for the advice.
