Does anybody know of any online references regarding ice saftey on the lakes?

Are the lakes in southern nh safe yet? Specifically the lakes in the nottingham, northwood, deerfield and strafford area?

I would sure say no as well. I live in the White Mountains and we have a nice little pond in our back yard and there is no way I would set foot on that yet

I have a die hard fishing enthusiast friend that has been ice fishing on Turkey Pond on the Bow/Concord line not sure how thick the ice is. Also folks have been fishing on Diamond Lake/Tom pond in Warner.
I wouldn't ever trust any online resource for ice safety. Make sure you check it for yourself. If you're not familiar with the body of water you're on check in multiple spots.
I'm not ready to get on the ice yet but if the cold holds we'll probably fish over the school Christmas vacation.
Common sense safes lives - be careful.

I've seen ice boats out on Lake Coontoocook already and there were two guys ice fishing earlier today. Some sections are shallower and freeze faster (thicker ?)

Anyway, I found this here .

I was ice skating on Turree pond in Bow, ice fishermen said the ice was 6 in, I thought more like 5 and stayed close to the edges. Beautiful skating though!

my son's friends have been skating on a small pond by our house in Candia, but I won't let him on there yet. I wouldn't feel safe letting him out there when the ice looks so dark and thin. : (
