Tamworth and area has just enough snow for a sled, but no where near enough to make snow shoes worth it. If I see anyone in shoes now I will probably fall down in a fit of laughter. We got 2 to 5, maybe a little more than that in the woods, but the sticks will gag up the shoes.

Ice boating might be a better deal. Thar's ice shacks on Squam and in Merideth, Centerharbor too.

Colebrook - maybe we saw each other... I was the idiot with the 2 wheel drive truck. Had to put my chains on to get back out of there.

You sure have a nice spot to live.

Just on the road that goes to the Lodge. It was slushy with a layer of ice underneath.

Hey BeFree ,

It's been snowing all day today. The wife and I went to Berlin . On the way back the roads really turned to s--- . Coming through Dixville notch a van had slid bounced off the high side and rolled over. He had 2 wheel drive . Usually the roads are kept in good shape but it seems as tho lately the road crews are not as prevalent as in years gone by. The road to the lodge is a rough road any time of year . Add the snow and no 4 wheel drive you are asking for trouble my friend. FYI we got about 4-5 more inches today.

Ha! I like that sign.

Colebrook - hope no one was hurt in that van. When we got up there on Christmas Eve, there was a blue car in the ditch on Diamond Pond Rd. Did you see that one? It was in there pretty good. We would've tried to help, but no one was around. My truck has a lot of weight in it, and decent snow tires, but I felt the back tires slip when I had to shift down for hills because the snow was so greasy. A couple days later, it was cold enough that traction was good, but then the melting came on New Year's Day. We didn't have any trouble once the chains were on, but no way we'd have made that first incline without them.

Man, 4-5 more inches today?? How about you quit hoarding all the snow and send some down here for the rest of us? Even on Halloween, Colebrook had all the snow.
