I wear some EMS brand under/mid layers in the winter. When they have a sale I pick them up for a good price and then they last forever... I haven't been cold yet except the morning I discovered I left my laptop in the car and ran out at 6am in a t-shirt and mesh shorts to grab it (it was -1).

Welcome to NH! In a few months it will be nice, and in August people will be bitching about the heat!

Wicked cold! -9 degrees this morning here on Mt Kearsarge.

My bedroom was a cool 48 degrees this morning. The upstairs (which is ground level, my bedroom is in the basement)is about 58.

I've been keeping a hot fire burning for the last couple of days now. We even started a fire in the fireplace yesterday for some extra heat in the livingroom and kitchen. It will be 70 or so in here within the next hour now that the stove and fireplace are loaded and burning hot again.

I feel very fortunate to have a nice supply of dry wood for heating our home. We are indeed blessed. If you have a minute, check on your neighbors or any shut ins you might know.

I hope everybody is staying warm and your car starts with out problem and your pipes are not frozen.

I was just going to suggest checking on elderly neighbors.

I feel bad for the guys who have to work outside in this kind of cold, and for the homeless. Some news channel was showing pictures of their frostbitten fingers and toes last night.

As of Sunrise the Temperature out on my deck is -10, in the basement 32, and the living room has probably warmed up to 62 or so. Having to add a portable electric heater to the laundry room where all the pipes are located bothers my frugal soul.

Kept the woodstove blazing all night - even got up at 2 a.m. to check it and add a few more logs. My place is extremely well insulated and it's 80+ in my living room, 73 upstairs in kitchen and bedrooms! I personally like a cool bedroom, so my fan stays on or the window is cracked the slightest bit. Keep warm everyone! My son has a 90 minute delay this a.m. - I'm guessing it's due to all of the walkers in the district, so they delayed all schools in this district.

I have one of the recording thermo's and it says last night was -21.8 at th coldest. It only holds the hi and the low, other wise says what is current, which right now is +3.2
That converts to -30C degrees.

Recently my favorite weather is found on this link, which is no frills, and you can type in your zip code. Weather Wmwv-Fm (Conway) NH Weather Forecast - Find Local Weather

I just noticed my CD time is off 1 hour. I have 10:35

I miss Global Warming. Winters seem to be getting colder and with more snow the last few years, after many years of less snow and cold. Some experts suggest the warming cycle has peaked and we are about or just into a next cooling cycle.
