Are you sure about that? Rite Aid is a huge cooperation so it doesn't really have an "owner". What owner stated that.

he probably was not the owner, just the manager....pretending to be the owner. Rite Aid applies every year for a number of the H-1b visas to enable asians to come work for them. Last year they received 161 of them. I have no doubt that the story is true.

H-1b visas are just a way for companies to reduce labor costs for an immigrant will work for wages far below the average cost of a pharmacist.

H-1b visas are just a way for companies to reduce labor costs for an immigrant will work for wages far below the average cost of a pharmacist.
They operate 4900 stores, so that means that 3% of their stores employ a foreign worker, and with 109,000 total employees that means 0.1% of their workforce are foreign.

That doesn't sound like a very effective business strategy for cutting costs. I think there is a different reason for the H1-B visas. My first thought was due to the shortage of pharmacy personnel- it could be to fill that gap. But the number is even too small for that... Since the number is so low- it is probably just qualified foreigners applying for a legitimate job and getting hired.
