I'm looking at a job opportunity in Manchester, but I would like to live in Boston proper (I'm in my early 20s, I want the city living experience, plus my girlfriend lives in Boston). I understand its a reverse commute along I-93, but does anyone know how long I should expect it to take? I need to be at work at around 9:30 AM and will be leaving work after 7:00 PM.

It depends on how many back roads you need to take before getting on 93. The average might be 1 hour.

Check Concord Trailways. They have a commuter bus schedule from southern NH to Boston and back. The trip times will be short (45 min) because it will be a reverse commute. Do not bother trying to keep a car in downtown Boston. It would be cheaper to rent when you need a vehicle.
