Ive seen a lot of fingers up and down on Nashua. We'd like to take a drive to scout the area, can anyone tell me just where the nice parts might be? i.e. nice neighborhoods, orchards, parks etc.
P.S. We did some furniture shopping on Kinsley St. and we suprised at how bad the area was, is this considered one of the thumbs down areas?
orchards... in Nashua?? can't think of any. there are orchards in Hollis, and I think Milford. Greeley park is at 100 Concord St. neighborhoods off Broad St towards Hollis aren't bad. some are oldish, but ok.
Bicentennial school district is the most desirable and also one of the nicest/richest parts of town. It is the south end, bordering MA.
The "North End" (refers to north of downtown, not the geographic north end) which is around Greeley Park/Concord St is the old section with century-old victorian and colonial houses. I love those brick houses and tree-lined streets. We tried hard, but couldn't find a suitable/affordable house back in 2004.
I've lived in north Nashua (geographic north, bordering Merrimack) for over 10 years. There are nice neighborhoods and not as much congestion as the south end/DW Highway. I do have issues with airport noise, but that's mostly just my particular neighborhood and limited to a helicopter flight school that trains people to fly/hover over my house.
If I were to move, I'd prefer south Nashua. It would cut 10-15 minutes of my commute to MA, and it would get me away from that dang airport.
There is an apple orchard off Coburn Rd...north of nashua north hs. The Parrish Hill neighborhood there is great.
