Hi everyone,

My husband and I are from NY and big Yankees fans (but complete respect for Terry Francona). Does anyone know if there are Yankees-friendly bars or pubs in the Portsmouth area?
And yes, I know the Sox won today.

Thanks...Peace.
Kate

There's a great one just outside Portsmouth Harbor. Keep heading east until you hit it.

Of course I'm out of my mind - I'm a Yankees fan moving into Red Sox nation.
Funny, Frank - a harbor cruise with a stocked bar and MLB on the TV would work well, too. Thanks!

All NH bars are Yankee friendly, just make sure you wear a Sox jacket or hat, and keep that Yankees thing to yourself

It's good to have Yankees fans in the midst of Red Sox Nation. Keeps the back and forth banter going. If it was nothing but Red Sox fans, there wouldn't be much banter.

That being said, there needs to be limits on how many Yankees fans we let in to NH. Gotta keep a healthy balance....

And no, I've never heard of a Yankee-friendly bar in Portsmouth. You'll be tolerated just about anywhere (although you should expect non-violent, good-hearted ribbing), but there's no place that I know of where Yankee fans congregate to plan their evil schemes.

That's because even NYers don't like Yankees fans. Where I came from, you were a Mets fan or you got your arse kicked (metaphorically, of course)

Unfortunately I have no answer to your question- don't think that will ever exist up here. Thankfully there is MLB extra innings on the dish and cable. However, I thought I would mention that WTSN 1270 out of Dover carries all the Yankee games on the radio so if you are driving around when the game is on you can hear part of the game

Kate,

Worry not. NH is full of Yankee fans. I'm proudly wearing my Yankee's shirt now.

Despite popular believe, NH is not Red Sox Nation. That would be Massachusetts. There are many transplants from MA here and they bring their team with them.

This is NH. We still are the "Live free or die state". Free to proudly choose whatever team we like the best to kick some Red Sox a$$.

Unfortunately, the southern and coastal sections of our State are not much more than an extension of Mass. You may indeed feel over run with (insert MA professional sports team name here) fans in Portsmouth.

When I lived in Vermont, I found many more Yankees fans there. There were so many you really couldn't call it Red Sox Nation. Like 50/50.

They must hide when they're in NH. It's much more solidly Red Sox Territory to me...
