Hello,
My partner and I are considering moving to NH after college in two years and would like someone to recommend a decent cost of living, home values, good wage earnings and a family-oriented community.

We currently live in Texas so we're interested in an area similar to the cost of living here (Dallas area). Our ideal home ranges $150,000-$250,000 in a beautiful, safe community with plenty of recreational and educational opportunities for ourselves and our (hopefully) children.

Any ideas? Size of a city does not matter as long as we can be close to shopping, dining and entertainment.

BTW, I will be an RN and he is involved in business, so we do need to be close (30 min commute max) to plenty of job opportunities.

Thanks!

Uh....where do want to start? You need to find all the decent sized hospitals and work out from there. Hanover, New London, Concord, Manchester, Keene, etc, etc. Here's a link:

Map of Hospitals

You have tons of choices. I suggest you get a map of New Hampshire and start picking and choosing. Southern NH and along the seacoast are the most vibrant. The further north you get, the more isolated it becomes. A 30 min commute will put you far enough outside an urban area to get the house pricing you want, but don't be asking for too much. You are talking a very small two bedroom with a postage stamp sized lot; basically a starter home. Once you narrow down some choices, use the search tab above and go the advanced section. From there you can punch in town names, etc. to help you find previous posts and threads.

great advice bigfry

looking fo a job for you and your husband I would have thought be the first thing to do, when you find decent job offerings then check the towns out near by.

good luck on your future plans
