I presently live in Oklahoma, and wish to relocate to the New Hampshire area. I work as an Instrument Tech in an oil refinery, and am looking for work in a similar industry (Oil/gas, Utilities, Medical). Wondering if anyone had any ideas if there are such work available in New Hampshire. Our main focus is to relocate close to family which live in Long Island, Ny. New Hampshire seems to have everything that we are looking for, including a nice place to raise our two young girls. Any advice would be very appreciated!

I thought I responded a couple of days ago. Try the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and the Seabrok Nuclear Power Station. They are both on the seacoast. Nice place to live.

NH is not particularly close to Long Island, though that obviously depends on what your idea of close is. It looks quite a bit closer on the map than it really is. Compared to Oklahoma, it's obviously a hell of a lot closer.

It used to take me [from the Island] between about 4 - 6.5 hours to make the trip up there (around 4 hours to get to the bottom of the state, and upwards of 6.5 to get to the upper-middle of the state, just above the White Mountains). More than likely if you find a job in energy, it will be in the southern end of the state.... so figure a 4+ hour commute one-way, whenever you want to go visit family.
