Okay, NMBLA is f'd up...in no way do I support that. I don't support anyone that preys on children. But I know numerous gay and lesbian couples that are in committed, stable relationships. Some even have adopted children! EEK! Many of societies "creeps" are not "gay". Look at the loser from Penn. Married to a female and having sex with young boys.

As for cousins...in 18 states, plus DC, it is legal to marry your first cousin. NH allows you marry a first cousin once removed, which would be like marrying your cousin's kid. But NH does not allow first cousins to marry. I believe it's based out of genetic concerns...that's why some states allow it as long as genetic testing is conducted first.

Now about kids and seatbelts/helmets.... I am for this since children aren't able to make an informed decision so they need to be protected. Once you hit 18, do whatever the hell you want. I also support the new carseat and booster seat guidelines.

Hoza'bout the state stays out of the marriage business and leaves this to the church of your choice.

Oh, if only there were some sort of document prohibiting this mixing of church and state.

After all, freedom of religion isn't freedom from religion. http://bestsmileys.com/religous/1.gif (broken link)

homosexuality is natural. it occurs all the time in nature.

no one has a final say on the definition of marriage because it is a cultural phenomenon and it has different meanings in all times and places. there are places with married gays, men with multiple wives, women with multiple husbands, etc. etc. everyone just makes it up as they go along and find what works for them. gay relationships have nothing to do with child abuse or incest, and such comparisons are nonsensical.

i do not like it when people try to impose their personal beliefs on others when it is 1.) prejudiced, 2.) misinformed, and 3.) it restricts people's rights and 4.) promotes intolerance and/or hatred. gay folks hurt no one by being together. marriage is celebration of love, commitment, and family. i will never understand why people are against it or why they care so much about other people's marriages when it does not affect them at all.

just imagine if i snapped my fingers and your culture was gay dominant - you are harassed all your life just because of who you like, people call you sick and perverted for being straight, and you are prevented from marrying a woman because it doesn't fit in with some people's arbitrary definitions of marriage. doesn't that sound wrong?

I realy dont give a damn who marrys who. But that smoking ban pissed me off to no end.The worst part about it is that 1/2 of NH was already nonsmoking and we had a choice.

Too many people want to turn this great state into northern massachusetts.

No it doesn't. Homosexual sex does, but female animals do not form mateing pairs with other females & males dont either. There is a difference between two people enjoying sex & two people mateing for life and theres a difference between people mateing for life & two people living together.

Actually thats all untrue. Marriage in the legal sense is a cultural thing that recognizes the importance of a stable FERTILE family group. Sure SOME hetero couples cannot reproduce that are married, but granting same sex couples equal stance in the community as hetero couples is silly at best.
In my opinion bringing children into a same sex situation can be nothing but child abuse. Sure the kids can still be loved & provided for but as easilly influenced as kids are its an abuse to their ability to differentiate between right & wrong, normal & abnormal. There is nothing normal about being gay. Its no big deal but it is surely a sexual abnormality and children raised in same sex households are brought up thinking its normal, unlike other people suffering from disorders who will often take the time to explain to kids why they are different than others, homosexuals often refuse to admit the truth to themselves & are very unlikely to tell little Johnny that even though he has two dads the child should look for a girlfriend.

I can never understand how anyone can say it doesnt effect others. Obviously it does or this debate would not be going on.

Um,, so you want us to imagine something that isn't, wasn't & couldnt be, in order to justify homosexuality? Just imagine if everyone had sex with soggy knotholes & you were harassed all your life because you wanted to have sex with women & make babies to help ensure the species survival.... The bottom line is that sex, while alot of fun, has a definitive biological purpose, reproduction. Sex with things that were not meant to reproduce is abnormal, homosexuality is a sexual disorder & regardless of laws & documents two people of the same sex cannot be considered a mating pair & therefore cannot be considered married by rational people.
Marriage is NOT about insurance bennies or public acceptance. The trouble with this country is we worry about appearances instead of substance.

it's a great commercial. I'm glad it's running. I'm proud of NH for allowing gay marriage and being the first in the nation to pass the law without a majority vote. Yay for freedom!!!

I would support passing a law that does not allow anyone who's name begins with K to get married....ROFL (Kardashian made a joke of marriage this year). Point being it's the same thing as denying marriage to a sect of the population that you don't like.

Marriage is an evolving legal sanction. It's a right that belongs to everyone, no matter their color, their economic status or their sexual preference.
