I recently moved to the Farmington area about 8 months ago and I've been pulling my hair out over getting internet installed in my apartment. Every time I go to an internet provider's website and put in my address/zip code, I keep getting told that they don't provide service to my area. For those who live here, what internet provider do you use? It's driving me nuts; I keep having to go to free wi-fi hotspots and I'm getting sick of it.
We are in the back woods, and use Dish tv and can not get cable. We use Farirpoint phone for a wi fi connection and there are 3 systems in his house all running internet off the same wifi router.
First welcome Monny287...and to answer your question..i'm in Farmington myself and our internet service is Metrocast ...call the rochester office or better still drop in there and signup for service..
I'm not in Farmington.
But up here in boonyland - cable does not go everywhere.
Cable comanies sign an agreement with the town.
Go to the town hall and ask if your street is covered.
The telephone company is Fairpoint. Fairpoint customer service is located in Maine. Fairpoint customer service in Maine sometimes has old maps.
Talk to any local Fairpoint installer when you see one and ask that person. They actually know where service is and is not. DSL or whatever it is called now.
try fairpoint. its available but the service is sketchy but better than nothing. good luck
