How feasible is it to wilderness camping up in the whites? It doesn't seem like there is much water up there. Im wondering if you can get that feel of living off caught fish while on your own. Are there any rivers that you can follow up into the mountains and fish for your own food?

Sure tons. A lot of people go hiking up there and camp off the trails. There are a good number of little streams and the like as well for water. There are some areas you can't camp (most areas above tree line/alpine zones) but why you would want to camp there is beyond me anyway...

Just pack your trash out/leave it like you found it and all is well.

heh, sounds like Mac_Muz is needed! hmmm.... haven't seen him posting on here for a while, but you could still DM him. I know he's had lots of experience wilderness camping.

I've backpacked all over the Whites. There's water everywhere - seems like you're always crossing a stream or river. Fishing can be good also. Try this:

Check out the white Mountain National Forest and the Applician Mountain Club website for more info. Buy a copy of the DelOrme NH Road Atlas. I do not know about the fishing but there is plenty of water in these mountains.
