There's a big company that wants to hire me to work on their web marketing in NH. The problem is they want me to start out on a part time basis, and it looks like all of the rentals that I can find are 1000 dollars a month and there is no way I would be able to afford something like that. Are there any places I'm not looking or should be looking to find affordable near by housing? Also, I figure I'll need a second job to be able to afford rent and amenities. How hard is it to get a second part time job in that area?

Thanks

What kind of places are you looking at? I live in Concord and I am not sure how much rent is around Peterborough but I live in a Condo and pay 900 a month and it is a 2 bedroom. I have seen 1 bedroom places around here for 750 or so.

Jobs around there are scarce and generally employers want part timers to be available for rotating shifts, which makes holding a second job difficult.

Good luck and best wishes.

Nice town in a great location. As you noted it is a bit pricy. See if you can shake down your employer for a living wage. He knows Pererborough is pricy and may be willing to deal.

Try looking in Antrim, Greenfield, Bennington, not more than 20 minutes to Peterborough but rents will be less.

This is the local newspaper-Monadnock Ledger-Transcript, Peterborough, NH. Serving the Heart of the Monadnock Region. | Ledger-Transcript it has a rental section. Peterborough is very pricey and there are very few jobs in the entire area. Depends on how far you want to drive but things are tough here in NH as a whole I think.
