I've heard some negative things about Antrim, they it's a dying town, schools are terrible etc is it all true? Is it really dying? Would we regret it forever if we picked up one of those great old houses in the 'down town' area?

a dying town? never heard that. It's a small town and it's not close to any larger cities.

Crotched Mt. is not too far so skiing is nearby.

IMO you would do well to pick up one of the 'dinosaurs' in the village.

Thank you for your reply. I believe the person I had spoken with was overly negative.

Antrim is a very pretty town near the middle of nowhere in central NH. It is about 45 min from Concord, Manchester, Keene and Nashua. If you have a work at home income or are a low volume manufacturer or artist it is nearly ideal. As buck sugested there are some real bargain houses in the town. IIRC there are also a couple of old mills with potential water power. The real savior of many of these towns is the UPS company. They have dropped the cost od small package shipping for low volume manufacturing is again viable in some of these remote towns.

I suggest picking up a road atlas and visiting the area. Contact the town offices for more information.
