Is there a Center of Town? How is living there? Thanks!

yes, there is a walkable Main St. with a couple of stores, gas station, restaurants, private hospital, etc.

There is an abandoned rail bed that is used for recreational biking and hiking. (Rockingham Recreational trail)

Lots of professionals, beautiful homes and Sunset Lake. Sunset Lake has a town beach open to residents of Hampstead.

Hampstead is a nice town, great quality of life. Schools feed into Pinkerton Academy. However, I wouldn't in a million years consider Main Street in Hampstead to be walkable though. And bikable only by older teens or adults. No way would I want to see middle schoolers or younger pedaling along the hilly, curvy road that the Town Hall, etc. is on. Rte 121 is well-traveled, and while there is a 30 mph speed limit in the area, most traffic travels much faster. There is a corner/general store, and as BN mentions some restaurants (along Rte 111 for most of the commercial restaurants, gas stations, etc). That's not walkable either...

when I said walkable, I meant it's easily walked. There are limited sidewalks. HOWEVER, the town is currently under study to determine how much it will cost and how much they can spend to put sidewalks the length of Main St.

We're looking at Hampstead right now. Any additional comments (pro or con) about this town? Thanks in advance.

What sort of info are you looking for about Hampstead? Schools? Real estate stats? Upcoming new construction (whether commercial or residential)? Have you visited Hampstead, or only just looking online at this time? Tell us why you're looking at Hampstead, and what you already know about the town, and maybe some of us can confirm what you've already been told...

couple great lakes for fishing, boating, walking.

Couple good restaurants in the area, best con queso dip in NH is from Hampsteads Little mexico, but beware of everything else on the menu. haha

relatively close to salem and MA border AKA more dining options and shopping malls.

Not a bad town in NH, and Pinkerton HIgh school is one of the biggest private schools in the nation. sports powerhouse, and always gets good reviews from the state. THIS IS COMING FROM A RIVAL, THAT WAS BROUGHT UP TO DESPISE ANYTHING PINKERTON! haha

Good luck, and hope you enjoy sunset lake.
