Hi, I just got a job at Plymouth State and need to relocate from beautiful Montpelier, VT. This weekend we took a ride through the Plymouth area and neighboring towns (on a cold rainy winter day) and wanted to get a feel of where we might consider living. This is so hard! I think we will want to rent the first year (starting this summer) until we get a better feel. We are also considering Concord. We have no idea what would be better for us and our 2-year old and dog. We would love some help! Should we live in Plymouth or live in the Concord area and make the drive. Thanks for your help!

Depends on what you are looking for in a town. I personally love Plymouth but you may not.

I think you should consider Plymouth. The drive from Concord would really get old fast. Spend more time with your baby and your puppy and less time on the road. The years go by fast.
Best of luck!

Agreed! It takes almost an hour to drive from Concord to Plymouth. I know this...I am a PSU alumni (class of 2002) whose grandmother lived in Concord! Also, I agree that you need to provide us with a little more of an idea of what you are looking for!

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your help. I am heading there this weekend and going to do the drive between Plymouth and Concord. I am not a big fan of driving much, as I have an 11 minute commute right now. Are there any areas in Plymouth that are more desirable to live than others? We are also considering Canterbury, Boscowen...

How about Ashland? It seemed nice. And only one exit south of plymouth.

Don't know the other towns so much but I thought Rumney was very cute. Have only driven around there so I don't know more intimate things such as schools and how the people are.

I don't know what areas are better than others, but as I'm sure you know Plymouth is a party town with PSU. Make sure you visit the neighborhood where you are thinking of living at night to see what kind of noise and life is around late at night.
