Hi, SMUR,
What you said makes sense, and I do appreciate your offer of help.

I'm sorry if I gave the impression that the problem was the computer instead of the computer guy! I didn't post the whole story. The tower and innards were put together for me from spare parts, which was ok at the time; it was a favor. It seems that in shipping the heat sink and processor broke loose and mashed up a bunch of stuff inside the computer. I would have liked to have used it, but it was too broken.

The problem came when I asked for the works back from the computer guy and he gave me everything but the processor. I called him daily for 4 days, left messages and got no response. When he finally called (my last message was more ominous than the rest) he made excuses about why he had not heard the messages. Right.

So the whole thing centered around him keeping the part that I wanted back (the person who made the unit for me wanted to see what happened).

What a mess. Anyway, if I do not receive the part by the end of next week I will follow up with a police report, a report to the BBB and anything else I can think of.

I'm not being vindictive. It's just that I have allowed other similar matters to slide and should not have. I can't continue to do that and still face myself. That's the short side of that story!!

I'm sorry to hear that, Joan... had hoped that you'd be reporting back a happy ending in this situation

Thanks, SMUR and Val. My update at this point was in the line of public service. And also info in the sense that if businesses treat their customers badly, there are avenues to take.

I don't expect a lot out of this process, but at least I can say I didn't let this guy roll over me without reporting him!

Again, thanks for the support!!
