Good day, my NH neighbors!

I have NHHP as my health insurance, specifically through the First Health company. For the last few months they have mysteriously "lost" my account about three times now and are currently denying a precertification for surgery because of it. Mind you, I just signed in on line and viewed my account.

This is a little strange, especially since I will have to have another plan in January, when the Affordable Care Act takes over. Are they trying to get me to give up and wait until next year, even though I pay them a basketful of money every month for the prividege???

Has anyone else had this experience?

NHHP is ceasing operations as of December 31, 2013

The New Hampshire Health Plan (NHHP) is a state high risk pool established to provide health insurance to NH residents who are declined coverage through the private market, have a pre-qualifying condition or are otherwise eligible. The NHHP is intended generally to be the insurer of last resort for New Hampshire residents. Applicants are encouraged to seek coverage from private insurance companies before contacting the NHHP.

NHHP also provides health insurance for individuals who are entitled for certain Trade Adjustment Act (TAA) or Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) benefits. For these individuals, premiums may be payable through the federal health care tax credit program.

Thanks for the info. I looked at that this morning and it seems that the plan that was discontinued was the FEDERAL plan, not the state plan, which was still operating when I got my monthly bill a few days ago.

I still have an account with the NH plan and logged in to it this am.
