Having a hard time finding anything to do with DIY home building classes that are instructor led. Something similar to what a Home depot workshop would do, but on a grander scale.

I want to do projects by myself and not hire people...I want to learn the skills and principles of it so I will keep with me the rest of my life. the cost savings of DIY would be immense vs hiring someone.

Would any of you know of any schools, programs or anything like that in the NH area?

Much appreciated...

Thanks,

ERik

I don't know about classes, but if you want to learn the trade, why not contact professionals and see if you could shadow them.

Start volunteering for "Habitat for Humanity" and work with pro carpenters and other trades in building low-income homes.

Excellent suggestion. Well done.

Also look into the Voc Tech Community Colleges.

Also I highly suggest taking time off to attend the International Builders Trade Show.

LINK

Only open to members of the trades. But there are multiple ways to register to get in.

The largest builders/home/construction trade show in the world. And they do provide classes in every aspect of construction - for a fee.

This is not your ordinary "Home Show".

Usually located in Las Vegas and Orlando - alternating years.
