People kayak there, so if you're very careful to stay close to shore, and inland, you should be ok.

Great Bay is a 6,000 acre estuary. It's a vast and rugged waterway that drains twice daily to the Piscataqua River. It commands respect from all visitors.

I cant find any info on anchoring overnight in little bay or great bay. Is there an area where people do this? Are there specific rules regarding this? (not sure if its different then any other area since its a managed preserve).

Sorry, its illegal. Live free or die?

You can only overnight while tied to a dock (with permission of course)

There's been a couple houseboats moored out in front of the Great Bay Marina for the last couple weeks. Give them a call.

Is that a local ordnance? do you know what agency prohibits and or enforces that? does that mean anchoring is prohibited at anytime?

State ordinance. Marine patrol, fish and game, state police, local police, etc. Typically local police will handle it if there is a complaint. In great bay it would typically be Marine patrol. They are out all the time, day and night and they are very aggressive.

Using another person's mooring is also illegal, even with permission. Your boat must match up to the mooring.

Do people do it? Sure. Do they get ticketed, or told to move? Sometimes.

It is legal to anchor, even in front of someone's house, just not overnight and not overnight and occupied.
