Try your local library. The Londonderry Public Library on Mammoth Road has a several bookcases of tapes and DVD's for loan. Internet downloads and Netflix did in most of the movie rental stores.
Looks like libraries and redbox will have to suffice for now. Never thought I'd see the day when video stores were becoming extinct. Damn…..
Yes, it's sad! Video stores are such a loss. What I thought was great about them is you could go in not knowing what you want, and spot something on the shelves and give it a try. It's much harder to do that on Netflix.
I wonder why it is that Family Video doesn't have any stores in New England. Seems like they're still thriving elsewhere. I like them 'cuz you can rent slightly older movies for five days for only fifty cents and consume all the content (commentary, featurettes, etc.) -- it's still a way better deal than netflix or redbox IMO. Someone should convince them to open stores here…….
