Size isn't generally the issue as much as quality. From what I've seen the 2BR market is split, with apts generally being 900-1000, and something more town-home style (Large End Unit Townhouse with Garage, Available July 1st, Back Deck , 2 br/1 bath ranch-style home w/1-car garage) will be about 1500+

Or you could find a newer 1BR mid-size condo somewhere in between (New Construction - 1 bedroom 1 bath Condo)

Thanks! Those give me a way better idea of rental properties. And they all seem nice and liveable!

So I hope that you have the same option of visiting with relatives up north during the summer months.
During my last visit, I had a conversation with a younger guy from Dracut MA and he said everyone told him prior to moving to Florida that it's too hot and he would be back. That was eight years ago and has no desire to go back. As he put it..... there are two very hot, sometimes oppressive months, and two so so months, but the other eight months are fantastic.
I know many that have moved down and they stay year round even though they have family up here. I believe it is the individual that decides if they can tolerate climate change. Some, it may take a few years, others never get used to it, whether you are going from a cold climate to a hot climate or vice versa.
As I said in my post........ I no longer have winter activities to pass the time, and don't care to start any new ones, so warmer climate should do just fine.

Boating, golfing, fishing, hanging by the pool eight to ten months of the year and I will chill out for the one or two bad months.

Florida has average daytime highs in the 80s seven months out of the year and three of those average in the 90s. Some people like that and if you can take it, hats off to you. I'd be perfectly fine if the temperature never got above 75, but I don't make the decisions!

I'm the same way - I've been in Orlando in Dec. and felt that it was too humid for my tastes. Though I might feel different actually being on the ocean, and particularly out on a boat! And the evenings were lovely.

The weather in NH is spectacular today. Mid-70's and a nice breeze.

The property taxes are the 2nd highest in the USA, after NJ, gas prices are higher in NH, the electricity rates in NH are insane per kilowatt per hour, the heating costs are nuts, the price of food is high, the only thing I found cheap, were cigarettes, that was it. This was when I lived up in Littleton NH, as well...and the winters and sheer huge amount of snowfall, was mind numbing. I had to leave NH after one year, way to expensive.
