My hubby and I decided to move to NH after his retirement from the Army (23 and 1/2 years).
His dad lives in Vt, but hubby always liked NH better, so, to Nh I went on a *scouting mission* as he called it.
Found several houses to look at and chose one to offer a bid on.
And got the house!
House needs work.
Can anyone recommend a good plumber, a good construction contractor (we need to take a few walls down in the house) and maybe a good HVAC guy to install a furnace?
(I am SOOOOOOOO excited to move up north, I can't stand it! Currently in El Paso where temperatures have been in the 100s for 2-3 weeks!) I hate the heat, LOVE cold weather!
Still...that house is gonna need a new furnace...
I don't think its ever hit 100 degrees in Colebrook. Today was a real warm one in Colebrook and it toped out at 84.Had a morning low of around 51. now its 81 degrees there at Diamond pond.4:45 pm.

Quit taunting me! It hit 108 on my back patio today!
Funny, I just got back from El Paso, went to enjoy the sunshine and heat

I know some good contractors in S.NH, but none that would travel that far north.
If you're working on the heating system anyway, I would look into adding a pellet stove. They aren't great as your sole source of heat (require bi-weekly cleanout), but are a great cheap source of supplemental heat with much less labor than a wood stove.

Colebrook may never have seen 100, but has dropped as low as -42
Colebrook may never have seen 100, but has dropped as low as -42 . Been to -60 twice , unofficially the past fifty years, on Back Lake in Pittsburg. Last time was about nine or ten years ago..
Wish you had seen my house for sale - its in Colebrook!
