Hello everybody!

We just moved to Laconia and are renting a 16 acre property. We've been using the trails and what not regularly, but I just had a chance to go out further into the woods to explore this morning. Our property abuts state forests and I was wondering if anybody had some information about the two of them, mostly if there's trails, etc. The dogs and I landed on an obvious trail blazed with blue and orange that had been traveled probably in the last couple of weeks. I'm just trying to figure out if this trail actually connects the state forests. It was a good 30min hike out from the front door (taking longer due to the snow and counting deer tracks for the b/f) so I didn't want to venture too much further today. I actually have to work and what not. The two forests are Huston-Morgan and Hamel. It also looks like Prescott would be just on the other side of them according to google maps (I don't know where all of the boundaries are). There seems to be quite a bit of land in between them, but it's undeveloped without houses anywhere close so I'm not sure if that's also state land.

I'm mostly just curious and couldn't find any information about possible trails. Plus I don't want to be trespassing.

Thanks!

Depending on which side of Parade Road you are hiking on, that trail you encountered could be New Hampshire snowmobile trail #303.

We are west of Parade Rd. We live on Meredith Center Rd. Is there a resource that you're aware of that shows the trails in the area (snow mobile or otherwise)?

EDIT: Sorry just saw your link

Snowmobile clubs spend a lot of time and money to maintain the trails and welcome everyone to use them for hiking and xcountry skiing.........just have to remember to listen for approaching machines....and don't forget to give them a smile and a wave instead of a dirty look.
