If we need help unloading our moving truck once we get there, do you know of any resources or trustworthy people that you would recommend? We may need a hand unloading as we have many boxes and stuff that needs to go upstairs into a 3rd floor unit. It would be a little scary just hiring randoms off craigslist, you know?
Thanks!
If you don't know anybody, I agree with miu's second suggestion - call around to a few moving companies that look reputable and ask about their hourly rates.
If you know people you could ask them for personal references, but without that personally I wouldn't hire randoms, I'd just contract to a business who has a name to protect, and is presumably also has provisions to cover damages, etc.
I used this service when needing help moving across town. Found a crew in Durham (college kids) who did as well as any movers I've ever witnessed. The site will show you crews in your area and lists reviews people have left about them.
