We had this guy or gal show up on our porch last night. He/she is very friendly and sweet, and it is in good shape, so we think that it either lives or lived with someone. We live on academy road in Pembroke. If you have any info let me know.
Here's hoping you find the owner, thank you for taking the little one in until then
You're welcome. We'd love to bring it in, but not sure how our cat would get along with it, and he is an inside cat, so he doesn't have all the shots that an outside cat would get, and we don't want to take any chances. We're going to knock on neighbors doors later on, and if none of them know who it belongs to, we are going to take it to the ASPCA and tell them to call us if no one claims it.
We put food, water, and a box with a blanket out last night. It also wasn't super cold. If it was below 0, I think we'd have figured out a way to bring it inside.

I've found it's best to put them in a bathroom. That way you can be sure they won't damage anything, and it's easy to clean if there's any mess.
Lucas has been returned to his home! Or more like he returned himself to his home. He belongs to our neighbors, and somehow escaped without their knowing yesterday, and they went away for the night. He is back inside safe and sound.

Great! He's a pretty kitty. As jdhpa said, he had to be local.
Years ago, I had a beagle show up at my house two years in a row. He lived on what had been a farm three or four miles away as the crow flies. Buddy came in the Autumn. We kept him on the screened porch and gave him the box and blanket, food, water.
