I was interested in visiting, but was told by a student that it's a small town and there is nothing in the area. I would love for some of you fine folks to prove him wrong
For a rural area of NH, there are a lot of small, inexpensive, casual, and/or ethnic spots. Fine dining, not so much. There are American, Thai, Indian, Nepalese, Japanese, Spanish, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Turkish, and I'm sure I'm leaving some things out. I like the Salt Hill Pub for casual, Pine at the Hanover Inn for more upscale, and the tapas place for ethnic grazing.
LOT'S of great places to eat right in Hanover, and many others a short drive away.
Murphy's on the Green is a Hanover institution.
PINE in the Hanover Inn is very fancy but people love it.
Lou's for Breakfast
Tuk Tuk is a newish Thai place, right off the green. They are FANTASTIC.
I forget what the new name of the sushi place is, it used to be YAMA. Really good.
I really like Jewel of India.
Ramunto's Brick and Brew for pizza
If you want to get out of town a bit there's...
Worthy Burger in South Roytalton or
Worthy Kitchen in Woodstock
The Windsor Station in Windsor
Also, its Dartmouth College, not University. (though they technically are a university) If you call it Dartmouth University people will look at you really funny.
