I'm moving to NH early next year, can go anywhere in the state, and had pretty well settled on Dover. It was my 2nd choice after Portsmouth, I had all but eliminated Portsmouth because I'm restricted to ~$200k for a condo (for one person) and it looked like that would be either very difficult or impossible there.
However, recently, I was perusing the listings on NEREN and decided to check Portsmouth for the hell of it and saw that actually there were several condos there that might work. So my question at this point is: other than real estate, is Portsmouth any more expensive to live in than Dover? If so, how? Utilities, food, gas, etc.? By how much?
Thanks ahead of time for the help, you all have been great so far.
