Who has internet service through Consolidated Communications (successor to Fair Point)? According to their website, they have tiers at 7-25-100 Mbps. What do you have, and are you actually getting what they promised? Other problems? And what area of the state do you reside in?
I'm trying to cut the Comcast cable but I can't do it unless I can get equivalent high speed internet.
SW NH - no cable available, only DSL, so probably not a data point you want, but best I can get is 20mbps, which is solid most of the time. Between last December and February, had a problem at peak time in the evening with severe slowdowns. It took them a while to diagnose a local network problem, and a few more weeks to fix, but everything is fine noww.
one thing I've noticed still is that sometimes Netflix slows down. I suspect it's a peering issue, but can't confirm. I just change to Amazon Prime at those times.
I have Consolidated Communications, formerly Fairpoint, DSL internet. I opted to go with a small business account for two reasons: 1) I host my own website, and 2) I was told business accounts get better and faster service response times.
I chose the 25/2 plan and I just did a speed test prior to posting and it was 24.47/1.81. I have never had trouble or slowdowns to this point *knock on wood*.
I have been very happy with it. It will be a year of service come July 1. I am in Ossipee near the Wakefield/Ossipee border.
