I've been there twice since May 1, 2009. It has completely changed. Most of the trees were lost from the ice storm. I think it's even more beautiful now. Much more open. It makes the mountain stand out more. I'm planning a 2010 wedding there also. I just got engaged this past Sunday.
Congrats on your engagement!! As I stated in an earlier post, my husband and I were married at the Cathedral-almost 15 years ago. It is a beautiful place to get married-especially during foliage time. Good luck!

The ice storm in that area was definitely severe. Hopefully the forest will regenerate quickly. Congrats on the 2010 wedding there.
It's $950 just to get married there and you ahve to get your own minister, music etc. Thats insane. Thats more than the banquet hall.
Wow that is a lot-certainly more than when I got married there many moons ago-I think it was around 300 bucks and we hired an organist for I think around 50.
I guess since they rely on private donations a lot, that could be part of it.

Congratulations! I'm sure it will be just lovely, the pics I've seen of it (never having been there myself) look beautiful.
