This is why I don't like political signage on every yard. All it does is trigger the crazies - it does nothing to convince people to vote. It's comical when you just have a mess of signs for opposing candidate all clustered together for no good reason. It's a waste of materials and a distaction for drivers.
Irrespective of particular candidates, these kind of threats have long been feared by the bourgeoisie. It's distrubing how this kind of bolshevism has become mainstream in recent times. I don't feel great about either party, but I could never support the politicial forces threatening our society to win an election.

Yeah, I'm not really into the political fan club thing either. At the state/local level it has some utility for name recognition prior to primaries, but at the national level with its 2 party duopoly it isn't changing anyone's mind.
If you have a backyard range, the signs on public property can make decent target backers after the elections.
...necessary to prevent an attempt by the trespasser to commit arson
Like nearly all US states, New Hampshire allows use of deadly force to prevent arson against premises (RSA § 627:7).
Given the wording of the letters, I suspect the sender is just trying to stir trouble, doesn't have an "organization", and is dumb enough to have sent these in a way which will eventually result in getting caught (postal service takes images of all first class envelopes at multiple steps in processing).

Technically, owner has until "the second Friday following the election" (for the general election, or if they lose in the primary) to retrieve their property, and even after that you're not supposed to just take them (but everybody does).
There's actually a website that's been created by a left-wing group based off campaign donations with maps showing the location of Trump supporters. Just type in a zip code. These people are organized and are without a doubt planning to get violent. https://donaldtrump.watch/
