I think this is a yearly thread here.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A late-summer drought virtually eliminated ticks in parts of New England but they’re back with a vengeance this spring.
Dog ticks, which do not carry Lyme disease like deer ticks do, have been especially active since early spring in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
More at the link, but no surprise-ticks are out. I haven't seen much in my corner of the Lakes Region, but on the land I bought up north I get at least one dog tick crawling on me each trip. Hooray for deet. Once I get a house built, full on preventive measures will be going on.

The ticks are really bad where I am. It's almost worth it to endure another drought if it kills off the ticks. Also, having a long drought may cool off our real estate market if our wells run dry. I really don't think that NH can sustain all of the developments being planned and built.
