Looking at different properties around Plymouth area and home inspections are almost a thing of the past in this market. Any idea what a new septic system would cost or even close? Also how about a well or to drill for water and I'm sure that could vary by a bunch depending on how deep they have to go.

Thanks

Re: well drilling. Cost is dependent on the depth of the well.

I just had a well drilled a couple of years ago to 505 ft, here in Grafton Co.

Can't find the set-up fee, I think it was ~$500. Drilling $12/ft. Casing $18/ft. Drive shoe, mudding, and grouting the casing $750.

Pump installation with a pressure tank is separate. $3775.

Then you'll have costs for the site work (tree removal, silt fences, landscaping, etc), and trenching and laying the pipe and power from the well to the house, plus any additional plumbing required.

Total was ~$14K.

Somehow the well was contaminated with iron-eating bacteria during this process and I'm now paying thousands more in an attempt at remediation, which has failed so far.

The state has a website where you can find information on well depth in your community. Check "water well" and enter your town +/- street.

Besides the $$$, it's extremely difficult to find a plumber, contractor, or other building construction people right now because they are so busy. Ditto for supplies.

So since it was a couple of years ago I'm sure it's cheaper now ;-) . Crazy but stuck if you need it.

Thanks
