I am looking for the best seafood in the north country. If possible within a hour to hour and a half drive from Lancaster. I have been to Bay Haven 2 in Maine and it was good, large portions and decent price. But, closer to home would be nice. It needs to be a family oriented place as I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old.
Neither can I. Above Bristol there is one on the east side if the lake there. I forget the name having been there once 2 years ago. To get there it's I-93 south to Plymouth, west on Rt 25 to the circle, south there on Rt 3a and then at the southern end of the lake on the right (west side) Maybe that meets 1.5 hours.

You're talking about "The Big Catch", I think. Right at the foot of the lake. It's OK, the seafood is definitely good quality but the place and service leaves a lot to be desired, though it is nice scenery. And 30 seconds from home.
That's it!..... I had good service I think.... Got what I ordered, and wasn't hounded for more things, untill I wanted a another beer, which i got fast enough to suit me. They were very busy on that particular day. A Fall day 2 years ago.
I recall liking the place to go back again.... The fact I don't recall the names is I just don't, till I have been to a place more often, but once i drive/ ride some where once i can recall how to get there again for years.
Places that bug me each few moments a over service i guess bother me more. I have been known to send waitress scampering a few times. Or demand they don't come back with out another cold beer
Add an hour or so and drive to Bob's Clam Shack on RT 1 in Kittery, ME next to the Kittery Trading Post. Robert's just up the street is higher class and more expensive.
If you have to stay in the NC try local lake fish.
There is Johnathans in Conway, and a place I don't know the name of at the intersection of Rt16 and Rt 28 in Ossippe. I know they get fresh seas food every day.
As a wee lad I used to dig clams by the bushel all summer, and when I could in the other 3 seasons in Ipswich, so I get pretty fussy. As I grew I used to get lobsters by hand and spear fish there too.
I dug clams almost before I could walk. By the time I was 11 Dad let me take any boat I wanted alone. Most of the time I took his neighbors boats since they weren't exactly local
That one in Ossipee is called Lobster Quest.I've never been there but they seem pretty busy.
