My husband and I might be moving to NH soon. He will have no problem with a job and living in a small town setting. He moved around a lot before we got together. Me on the other hand, used to a city life and would need to find a job. We moved to TN and I had a very hard time. With this move to NH I want to make the best of it. I would need to know where the best area would be to live, shop and have entertainment. My husabands job would be located in Berlin and he does not mind a 30 to 40 minute drive to work. I on the other hand like a 15 to 30 minute dirve to my job, shppoing and entertainment. We would like to live somewhere where we can have lots of land. Any help would be great.

Remember that a 30-40 minute drive in summer can be a 1 hour drive in slushy/freezing rain/icy conditions and 2hrs+ or even impassable just after a snowstorm.

Berlin IS the big town up there for the needs you mention. You will certainly get fair bit of land for your money in the Berlin area.

I live in Berlin. Lots of land available yes. Shopping and entertainment? NO. You'd have to drive to North Conway or Littleton if you want shopping other than a JcPenny and super Walmart. It's about 30 - 45 minute drive. A long drive to work will mean dangerous drives in the winter time and probably an additional 15 - 20 minutes.

the houses get cheaper and the jobs get fewer as you move north in NH.

Concord area might be the best 'in between' region.
