OK, just decided on tonight's menu at .... ahem .... nearly 5 p.m.

Chopped red potatoes on the grill with onion slices, minced garlic & thyme. Pork tenderloin with teriyaki sauce. Fresh corn on the cob.

Suzet, my DDIL just sent me a recipe for a chocolate cake complete in 5 minutes (very dangerous recipe to have.) It sounded much better than chocolate powder on scallops. I'm a confessed chocoholic, but...is that really good?

Default Leftovers from lastnight

Your classic string-bean casserole with cubes of boneless pork chop laid, under the mushroom soup mixture. Was awesome, but a bit salty with Frenches onion crispy on top rings, adding slices of fresh onion rings inside would have helped too. I'll try that next time.

Ah, Nichole...you know me so well!! LOL!! I've been a really good boy lately. I've lost another three pounds, so I'm only 4 pounds away from my goal. So my chocolate loving is a bit subdued. I do indulge on ice cream sometimes (with chocolate sauce, of course), but I have to moderate.

I take the granola bar, crush it up and add it to the yogurt. That's actually really good!! (and good for you!!)

Since Wednesday's dinner was so good...we had a semi-repeat. Tonight (Friday):
Grilled Belgian Endive w/sprinkle of black pepper, oregano, basil, balsamic vinegar
Grilled Portobello Mushrooms w/ barbecue sauce
Grilled Artichokes

The Endive was good but I had garbage balsamic (very thin), need to get some of that real thick balsamic...much better for that sort of thing since it sticks to the food.

Also- the barbecue sauce worked really well on the mushrooms...I was worried it would not soak in enough during the 20 minutes I was steaming the artichoke.

Also #2- brushing the artichokes with olive oil is not really necessary as long as they are almost fully cooked from the steaming first (ie, grill time is limited)

Bonus: Since the Endive and Artichokes have sort of a bitter flavor...if you drink milk (like my wife) or lemonade (like me) as your drink with dinner- it tastes amazingly sweet and wonderful. To quote: "this milk tastes like ice cream".
