Apparently, the accident involves hundreds of cars, tractor trailers, and buses. I haven't heard of any fatalities, but the pictures are incredible.
If there are none, it's a miracle! The highway is closed of course, but it will probably take most of the day to clear away the resulting mess of smashed vehicles.
Wow! Been so busy on my computer today that I didn't even get that news! It is really a blessing that no one got hurt worse than they did.
Thank you Buck!

We had relatives driving from Boston to the North Country. Fortunately they listen to the radio news and heard about the mess. They took Rt 3 as an alternate.
There can be some microclimates in NH where the weather is bad and nearby Ok. Last Thursday at about 4PM a mini Ice Storm made roads very slippery for about 1 square mile in Northern Londonderry but was unnoticed in Southern Manchester. Several cars slid off the roads.
This big pile-up occured while it was still snowing and it seems that only one pass had been made by snow plows. The cars coming from the South may have come from an area with less snow and better roads and ran into the slippery roadway in Londonderry.
For the life of my I can't figure out why people think they'll get to their destination faster if they drive as close as possible to the car in front of them. It's snowing....leave enough room to stop if the car in front of you does....it's not rocket science
I drove up to the mountains to ski yesterday and people would pack into tight convoys on 16.....I just don't get it, especially on a 2 lane highway. God forbid you get there 10 seconds later than the car in front of you.....
