In a related story, the state of Maine has announced that it intends to tax the $8,000 as income due to the fact that the owner moved from NH to ME after the money was lost. The state of MA has announced its intention to levy a 12% capital gains tax on the $8,000 as the owner took a wrong turn and drove through MA on her way to ME. <just kidding>

Are you sure MA isn't going to tax them simply because they might actually USE the money somewhere else rather than in MA?

*****FLASH NEWS******

MADISON RESIDENT REPORTS BACKPACK MISSING

An unidentified Madison resident told authorities yesterday that his backpack has been missing for a few days, and the resident could not remember how much money was inside. He said when it was last seen, it might have been smoldering.

Authorities have not returned the pack or its contents at the time this story went to print. The Madison man is still optomistic that it will be returned...
