April 25: Four-year-old Garrett Mullen watches three-day-old pinto stallion named Einstein in Barnstead, N.H. (AP).

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A diminutive horse born in New Hampshire could lay claim to the world record for lightweight foal.
The pinto stallion named Einstein weighed just 6 pounds and measured 14 inches in height when he was born Friday in Barnstead, N.H. Those proportions fit a human baby just about right but are downright tiny for horse, even a miniature breed like Einstein.

Everything is smaller in NH.

he is so sweet and he's pretty because he is proportionate. His head looks a little big, but his legs are long just like a regular horse. I'm glad to hear they are not planning to geld him and may keep him as a stallion for breeding eventually. His color is great.

I heard they're contacting Guinness to see if he's the new record holder.

They really should not leave him in the dryer for so long. Looks like he shrank. He is hardly bigger than my Maine Coon Cat.

Seriously, this is a very appealing result of genetic engineering of the old fashioned kind. I hope he lives a long and satisfying horsey life.

Great story. I bet it would get along well with dogs.
Barnstead does have many horse farms.
