We went last year for apples and pumpkins and spent a lot of time in the kids play area they have. Have they changed anything since last year? Where we end up going will probably come down to whether or not the grandparents are coming to us or we're going to them.

We are trying to do more things locally since it's where we live, but some stuff "back home" just can't be beat or just doesn't exist near us.

I had no tradition of that sort of thing in my family. I went out a couple of times to Trainers or Trainors, I forget which, in Marlton or Mt Laurel to pick up stuff but usually just went to Greens at Ellisburg Circle. Greens was usually the same price. Not much atmosphere, but it was easy. I do know that in Gloucester County, Duffields is a big deal.

What's the best way to Johnson's from Cherry Hill (near Voorhees actually)?

I keep hearing so much about this place. We have a 19 month old toddler and people keep telling us to go!

Head down Route 70 towards Medford (east from the 70/73 interchange). Eventually 70 becomes one lane and the turn for Johnson's is right outside Medford. There's a big sign at the light on 70, so you can't miss it.

Just to add: We had all the intentions of going to the local place. Pulled up to it, looked around and ended up going to Johnson's. Walked away $130 lighter, but the kids had a great time.

Did all the school trips with kids to Johnson's farm. They are expensive in there (everything!)

You may want to check out Indian Acres Tree Farm in Medford. At least they don't charge kids to play on the playground.

We actually ended up going to Indian Acres on Saturday instead of Johnson's. Pretty nice place. And yeah, free playground. I didn't go on any of the haunted tours, but I heard they were pretty decent for kids.

There used to be another farm that was pick your own & did hayrides, either Trainers or Trainors. Are they still there?

I've heard the name, it was Trainor's. I'm not sure if they are still there. Conti's Farms is another one that does the hayride, pumpkin picking and cider and donuts, but they don't have all the other "attractions".

Thanks. I went to Trainors a few times to get stuff. I rarely went out that way when Greene's was at Ellisburg Circle, but drove out to Medford Lakes for my dentist for years, so would occasionally detour to Trainors.

My sister's been in Pitman for about 35 years & around there, Duffields is the place to go.
