Thank you for all the great suggestions and advice. There is so much to research. We have a little over a year before we move up there. We will actually be there in December to drive around and look at the area, I just wanted to get a good idea of where to start.
I didn't even consider the shore b/c I thought it would be more expensive than inland. I found a great website that breaks down the property taxes by county/city. We will certainly look at all the towns mentioned. Linwood, is going to be on the list of shoreline cities we look at. Are there any others? My husband will be working near the Atlantic City International Airport. I didn't realize there was a township too. What is the difference between a township and a bourgh?

The quick & easy explanation of a township vs a borough is that they are different forms of municipal government.
If, in your search, you veer from the list, come back & ask about schools.
Also, keep checking your original post. They separated us but did not put all of South Jersey into this forum. Not all of the South Jersey people will be posting on here. The South Jersey posts tend to get lost on the main board & since you asked about Haddonfield, I suggested that you also post here.
Everything is bigger in Texas except my pocket book. Are all the dry cities located in the suburbs of Philly? I heard that there are BYOB resturants, is that true? I'm not a drinker, but I do like to have a glass of wine with dinner sometimes. I've been researching all the cities suggested and they all look great, I can't wait to see them in person.
My husband is wondering if anything is wrong with Egg Harbor itself. I noticed there were 3 Egg Harbors; Egg Harbor, Egg Harbor Township and Little Egg Harbor. Would anyone recommend any of the Egg Harbors? Is it safe to assume that living in Atlantic City isn't recommended for a young family?
Oh, by the way...I still love Haddonfield. Are there any other historic towns? I know Cape May is beautiful and historic. Same problem there as Haddonfield...expensive.
