Personally, I'd like them to turn the Theatre into a movie theatre with dining. There's one where my in-laws live called the Commodore Theatre and it's fantastic. I'm not aware of one in the area, only been here a few years, but it would do really well here.

It used to be a movie theater. I saw Robocop there when I was a kid and later saw one of the Star Trek movies. It was a nice old fashioned theater with an actual red velvet curtain that went up and down and was pretty plush, though really showing signs of age.

I personally think your idea would be a nice fit and a major draw. If they also mandated 21 and over only they could pack that place even showing second run movies. So many people absolutely hate the crowds at the local theaters and all the BS that goes with seeing a film there.

There is a great restaurant in San Francisco called Foreign Cinema that complements the menu with an old film that runs neatly in the background. I would have to say that Jose Garces must have been there since Distritto seems to run along the same theme.

Anyone know what is going on with the former KFC on the corner of Haddon Ave and Cuthbert? They seem to be renovating it so I assume something is opening there...

Correct. Krispy Kreme. I'm sure McMillans is thrilled!
Yes, we are way off target here. Unconfirmed rumor: I was told Mayor Maley has put the pressure on to get units in the Lumberyard sold. As far as I can tell, they are moving on the stalled "units on the tracks" phase so what will come of phase III is surely in the near future. I'm hoping a Trader Joe's but a restarant supply store would make a killing!

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the garage at the Lumberyard this weekend. The street level / garage will be the length of 2 football fields and will be the non-residential portion of the Lumberyard parking. I think any move in the right direction is a great move for the project at this point! Way to get it done!

Good to hear, parking is an absolute nightmare most weekend nights in Collingswood. This will keep the cars from spilling down onto the residential streets as they so often do.

It's also one of the major excuses they use for not allowing established retail in town nor any sort of bar. They have a fear, (possibly justified), of cars spilling into residential areas. I HOPE this gives incentive to actually add something that will bring more people into town than Italian restaurants.
