This was a very entertaining thread....lolol Britney spears..a fantastic singer..lol. Then we got to the phanatic which apparently is only tacky if people start wearing phanatic puppets on their hands all the time...funny.

People do wear a lot of sports stuff around here. Who cares? You should see Pittsburgh and Maryland. I have lived in both areas and Steelers stuff is everywhere. Actually Steelers merchandise is not just limited to Pitt! In Maryland, there are a lot of Ravens and Steelers jerseys. I don't know if it's still like this..but when I went to Ca ..it seemed everyone was wearing Raiders and Lakers gear.

@Northbound..in my area in Gloucester County..many of the adults participate in an Adult soccer league. They also play in an indoor soccer league in the winter. They are out playing in their games all the time. I also see a bunch of adult hockey leagues.

I like the "mindless team worship" quote. I think it is part of the lemming syndrome. Anyone that will make the sports teams wealthier by buying their clothes is a mindless lemming. I'll bet they'd follow their favorite quarterback off of a cliff. I think that people who make sports watching the center of their life are generally of low intellect and have no other worthwhile interests.

Maybe because they want to be comfortable? Who knows...? I'm just guessing. Would you rather they wear their black ties finest on a regular basis? Will that make you happy?

No. I just don't have any respect for people that follow the crowd (Aeropostle shirts, North Face coats, Old Navy shirts, Love Pink, etc...) In my opinion, these are stupid and insecure people with no identity of their own. I'm not helping anyone get richer by being a human billboard. I like who I am, I'm confident in my values, and I don't give a f**k about belonging to anyone's perceived club. I think most people are deathly afraid to live what they believe, for fear of rejection by the other lemmings. I like to live by the line in Sinatra's My Way, "What is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has not"

Why are you even equating wearing a team shirt with making watching sports the center of someone's life? I wear my Phillies and Eagles, and right now I'm wearing my Rudolph and Frosty...so what?

I just love generalizations, where would we be without them?

Fine. My girlfriend just bought a Phillies Coat, shirt, and hat (earlier this summer). She says the same thing. She is happy to live here and wants to express that. I told her to think about the mentality of the people she will attract wearing sports clothes. You don't see fools spending hours of their day discussing Rudolph and his various flights, length of flights, takeoff stats, times around the world stats, uninterrupted with Santa....get my point? Your'e probably not making anyone a whole lot wealthier wearing Rudolph either

Would this be the leader of the free world wearing a Chicago Bulls hat...I think it is. What a mindless lemming.

Oh wait here he is again, wearing a Nationals jacket throwing out the first pitch, but also repping his team the White Sox...

So, I take it you make all of your own clothes by hand?

It can't possibly be any worse than she is used to.

NJ goat-He has to appeal to the masses. He's the president. It is an easy way for him to relate to people and possibly get some votes based on his "down to earth, everyman look"

The man was the editor of the Harvard Law journal. He's probably one of the smartest men we've had in office. Bush owned the Rangers, remember?
